It’s in Your Grandmother’s Bible

Old does not equal obsolete! Many ancient ideas are of great value. Some of those ideas have been ignored so long that they have been forgotten completely by most of humanity. It is now clear that this ignorance has yielded great losses and even worse this oversight has cost us many opportunities for creativity, progress and generosity.

This website uses Bible, Business and History to better inform our decision making . I bring in my spiritual life and thoughts with some trepidation as one of the things I value greatly in life is credibility. It must be recognized  that many hucksters and less than honorable persons have used their so-called faith to gain the trust of naive individuals however, it is also fair to point out that we live in a society which scorns religious hypocrisy to such a degree that many times our culture has become scornful of true faith as well.

I will leave it up to you dear reader to decide what camp to put me in, just know this; it would be easier to keep these opinions to myself. However, in order to have a clear conscience before my Creator I am posting these ideas based on the ancient sources.  Let it be known that I did what I could to inform my generation of his amazing patterns and that these patterns have the ability to improve lives and increase creativity.

Last year I told a business group that if these ideas had been found in Mayan temple in South America our modern media would hold this information in high regard but since it is in your grandmother’s bible it’s thought of little value.

This past March, Audrey and  I were privileged to travel to Israel with a group led by Doctor Hollisa Alewine. Doctor Alewine and her husband Alan produce videos, books and workbooks with the recurring theme of what they call the “Creation Gospel”. I was introduced to their work just as I was finishing my first draft of my book in 2014. I was so inspired by some of the first Creation Gospel (link here) material I saw that I wrote a 6000-word essay in about 2 hours which ended up being the third appendix of my book “Know the Time, Change Your World”.

Recently while studying Doctor Alewine’s material with Audrey we ran across some passages which shed considerable light on the things being communicated on this website and why I consider it a calling to continue to attempt to educate this generation on “God’s Appointed Times”. My tact has been to focus on the 7- and 50-year cycles but it is clear that scripture also gives us considerable detail concerning an annual calendar not necessarily familiar to many in our western culture. Details of it show up in Exodus 23, Leviticus 23 and Deuteronomy 16. The whole of the instruction concerning the use of the moon’s phases to manage the annual calendar is comprehensive and not ambiguous.

However, translators have made the severity of what we have lost difficult to notice. Doctor Alewine’s work with the Hebrew opens up one’s understanding and leaves the reader in stunned silence. Here is the first text I want to consider.

“How you have fallen from heaven,
O star of the morning, son of the dawn!
You have been cut down to the earth,
You who have weakened the nations!
 “But you said in your heart,
‘I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God,
And I will sit on the mount of assembly
In the recesses of the north.
 ‘I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’
Isaiah 14:12-14 NASB

In this text the enemy of all that is good is said to have “fallen from heaven” though referenced in vs 3 of the same chapter as the King of Babylon it is safe to say Isaiah is speaking of Lucifer himself. Notice Isaiah says of the evil one, “You who have weakened the nations!”. How has he weakened the nations? What has he done that has damaged the nations of the world?

In this text we can see his arrogance, his wish to replace God but his method of damage is hidden from us until we learn the meaning of Strong’s word H4150 which the NASB, ESV and NIV translators translate as “assembly” KJV translates “the congregation”. H4150 is mow’ed, properly translated mow’ed means “appointed time”. Notice how NASB translates this word in 4 verses from Leviticus 23.

The Lord spoke again to Moses, saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘The Lord’s appointed times which you shall proclaim as holy convocations—My appointed times are these: For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. You shall not do any work; it is a sabbath to the Lord in all your dwellings. These are the appointed times of the Lord, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at the times appointed for them. Leviticus 23:1-4

Four times in these 4 verses from Leviticus the NASB translators properly translate “mow’ed” as appointed times or times appointed. If they had used the same translation of “mow’ed” in Isaiah 14 we would easily understand how it is that Lucifer “weakens the nations”

Isaiah 14:13 should read

“But you said in your heart,
‘I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God,
And I will sit on the mount of the appointed times
In the recesses of the north.

The nations have been weakened by being led away from “God’s Appointed Times”. Let me be clear, I don’t want to miss that the “mount of the appointed times” is without a doubt Jerusalem. But that is a whole other conversation, simply know that just as there is a spiritual battle for Jerusalem there is also a spiritual battle over “God’s Appointed Times”.

I would contend that the damage done to the world economy by the disruptions in the market place of 1929, 1979, 1987, 2001 and 2008 are the result of this very weakening. I assert with great confidence that a return to the instructions concerning “God’s Appointed Times” will break this satanic weakness and return strength to the economies of those who are willing to pursue the biblical instruction. The evidence is right before our noses if we would only be willing to open our eyes and see. Which bring me to a second text Doctor Alewine’s work illuminates.

Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news,
Who announces peace!

Celebrate your feasts, O Judah;
Pay your vows.
For never again will the wicked one pass through you;
He is cut off completely.
Nahum 1:15 (NASB)

The verse begins: “Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace!” This verse about the “good news” or in Christian terms “Gospel” should bring echoes of Isaiah 52 and Romans 10. Notice the next line: “Celebrate your feasts, O Judah”  The word feasts in Hebrew is (Strong’s H2282 “Chag”) which indeed means solemn feast but it is drawn from (Strong’s H2287 “Chagag”) which means “to move in a circle”.

The Good News, the Gospel is that the circle (or cycle) of appointed times will be celebrated in the Judean Capital of Jerusalem and the wicked will interfere no more. When this happens knowledge of “God’s Appointed Times” will be universal. Therefore, the wicked one will no more weaken the nations with a 24/7 culture or man-made holidays.

Indeed, as Isaiah predicted.

They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. Isaiah 11:9

Therefore, we have before us a choice, we can wait until that perfect kingdom is revealed or we can begin to function in the Creator’s pattern of time and timing now. The choice is ours the results speak for themselves.

Lord, my strength and my stronghold,
    my refuge in the day of trouble,
to you shall the nations come
    from the ends of the earth and say:
“Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies,
    worthless things in which there is no profit. Jeremiah 16:19 ESV
